This volume is dedicated to the Romanian-born gallerist Ileana Sonnabend (Bucharest, 1914) and her fundamental role in promoting Arte Povera, which, being theorized in 1967 by the critic Germano Celant, is still today the most internationally renowned Italian art movement of the post-World War II period.
This monograph is published on the occasion of the same name exhibition, held at the MNAR-Muzeul Național de Artă al României in Bucharest, from June 26 to September 22, 2024, realized in collaboration with the Italian Embassy in Romania, the Italian Cultural Institute in Bucharest and Antonio Homem of the Sonnabend Collection Foundation.
