OMAGGIO A MARCO RIVETTI

Rivoli (Turin): Castello di Rivoli Museo d’Arte Contemporanea, 2017

Twenty years after his death, the Castello di Rivoli Museo d’Arte Contemporanea pays tribute to Marco Rivetti (Biella, 1943 – Turin, 1996) in a book that collects the speeches given on the occasion of the study day dedicated to him by the same museum on 7 July 2016. This volume includes texts by those who knew Rivetti and collaborated with him (Umberto Allemandi, Giovanni Ferrero, Anna Martina, Gianna Recchi, Carlo Rivetti); an exhaustive profile of Rivetti by Giuseppe Berta; contributions tracing the link between Rivetti and artists (Michelangelo Pistoletto and Gilberto Zorio) and testimonies of further art-industry combinations (Roberta Ceretto, Giovanna Gregori, Bartolomeo Pietromarchi). The book also includes an essay by curator Ilaria Bernardi, aimed to provide a biography of Rivetti and an accurate list of his most relevant activities in the art world.

Marco Rivetti was the president of Gruppo Finanziario Tessile (GFT) from 1986 and the third president of Castello di Rivoli, from 1988 to 1994. In the evolution of the group, Rivetti not only created innovation by collaborating with great fashion designers such as Armani, Valentino, Ungaro and Dior, but also created a marriage between art and industry through numerous collaborations with important artists, architects, and film directors.
